Female leaders and voices are dramatically underrepresented in economic policy worldwide.

This lack of representation has detrimental consequences on our societies. At the same time, women’s increased inclusion presents an untapped source of enhanced economic performance, progress and innovation. Research has shown that every percentage increase in women's employment produces a significantly higher increase in a country's total GDP.

In the year of Germany’s G7 Presidency, we are pleased to invite you to join a high-level panel on The Economic Costs of Excluding Women which puts women’s participation in the economy and in the economic discourse squarely on the policy-making agenda.

Register here for this online event on January 24th, 14:00-15:00 CET and join our international panel of leading policy-makers and advisors as we discuss how much exclusion is costing our economies and what to do about it:

Linda Scott, (tbc) Emeritus Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, University of Oxford, author of the bestselling book "The Double X Economy" on the epic economic potential of empowering women.

Kathy Matsui, former Vice Chair of Goldman Sachs Japan and Chief Japan Equity Strategist whose groundbreaking ‘Womenomics’ research spurred the Japanese government to promote gender diversity.

Manizha Wafeq, Afghan entrepreneur and campaigner for women’s rights, Co-founder and President of the Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The panel will be hosted by Ambassador Michael Klor-Berchtold, Director-General for Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, and moderated by Elisa Hörhager, Co-Founder of Women in Economic Policy.

This event will also mark the official launch of Women in Economic Policy (WEP), an initiative founded in the Directorate-General for Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development of the German Federal Foreign Office aimed at becoming an international network of female policy-makers in the field of international economics and finance.

Please forward this invitation within your network.
