This lack of representation has detrimental consequences on our societies. At the same time, women’s increased inclusion presents an untapped source of enhanced economic performance, progress and innovation. Research has shown that every percentage increase in women's employment produces a significantly higher increase in a country's total GDP.

The panel will be hosted by Ambassador Michael Klor-Berchtold, Director-General for Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, and moderated by Elisa Hörhager, Co-Founder of Women in Economic Policy.
This event will also mark the official launch of Women in Economic Policy (WEP), an initiative founded in the Directorate-General for Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development of the German Federal Foreign Office aimed at becoming an international network of female policy-makers in the field of international economics and finance.
